So...Germany was not exactly souverän in their round of 16 match against Algeria, but the 2-1 win still counts, and it sets up a quarterfinal meeting with France that has already set our mouths to watering. (Next course - snails!) In that spirit, Matt Hermann, Alex Handcock, and Jonathan Harding convened - and had a dynamite discussion. They dissected Joachim Löw's persistence with a few unusual tactical ideas, got to the bottom of Per Mertesacker's rage at the press after the Algeria match and even invited France 24's Dan Levy (@DanLevy1) by to fill us in on the bleu side of the equation. As you'll hear, there were a few technical issues in post-production, mostly relating to Jon's audio. We did what we could, but his parts are kinda jacked, we have to admit. As he told us...he was trying to go "extra sultry."
