Florian Reinecke, the Fantasy God, flies solo this week as JT tries his hand at some next-level sports betting in Las Vegas. He’s got advice for all your MD29 needs, including which players will respond to the pressures of the fight against the drop, and which players will make it on the pitch in the first place (for Bayern, who are concentrating on the Champions League). Enjoy!
If Peter Stöger was looking to dispel the myth that his Dortmund team was defensively sound, a six-nil stomping in Munich was an emphatic way to do it. The result propels Bayern into their Champions League date with Sevilla with wind in their sails, and leaves BVB vulnerable to being overtaken as they enter a tricky set of fixtures.
Matt and Abel get a jump on match day 28 analysis, chewing over all the Klassiker fallout, the steady rise of Hoffenheim and much much more. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
The international break is history and the Bundesliga is back – so too is TF Fantasy.
Listen in as JT and Flo tell you what they’ve learned from the recent past and how to apply it to your immediate future on MD28. Does Dortmund’s coming tricky stretch (Bayern, Stuttgart, Schalke, Leverkusen) mean you should lay off black-and-yellow reinforcement to your team? Which teams were most hurt by injury in the most recent set of friendlies? Is Christian Pulisic set to be a Banker or a Bandwagon Denied in the coming weeks? Find out on TF Fantasy! Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
ALERT! ALERT! FC BAYERN MÜNCHEN HAVE LOST IN THE BUNDESLIGA! To mark that unusual event in Leipzig, Susie Schaaf of Miasanrot drops by to talk about the Rekordmeister’s present and future.
Matt also engages her in an extended discussion of Germany’s squad ahead of two prestige friendlies against Spain and Brazil – games in which some decisions on who makes the plane to Russia might well get made. Susie also introduces us to the latest project she’s involved in: The Short Pass. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
Ever think “WWSHDIHPOFB?” (What would Steven Hawking do if he played Official Fantasy Bundesliga?) Maybe not, but JT has – he and Flo chew it over on an episode that zooms in on the Bundesliga’s top goal-getters.
Yes it’s striker week on #TFFantasy, where you’ll get the boys’ thoughts on who’ll serve your team best up front in the run-in, along with the accustomed range of bankers, watchlist wonders, and fantasy facepalms. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
It’s basically a done deal – Hamburg are going down. This week’s two-part reset-button smash on either side of a 6-0 hiding at the hands of Bayern proves the club knows it too. Listen in as Matt and Abel go deep on the team the elegantly named Christian Titz is taking over as interim coach. (The two could just as easily have talked about Cologne’s sense of impending doom – unfortunately, they hadn’t yet lost to Bremen when the pod recorded.)
Also plenty of talk on Dortmund’s Dusel in winning against Eintracht, the doldrums of the foals, Franck Ribery’s renaissance weekend, and much much more. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
It’s a banner week for TF Fantasy – our very own Flo Reinecke has taken over top spot on the global Official Fantasy Bundesliga charts…and boy does he let JT know about it!
James, somewhat further down the table and ever the good sport, takes pride in the accomplishment and sets up the table-topper for plenty of chances to find out where the bargains are on MD26. As a bonus bit of food for thought, 2. Bundesliga maven Jonny Walsh of the 2. Bundesliga Podcast stops by to give you a few names to think about for next season. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
This past weekend was like a point of emphasis, driving home what we probably already knew: Bayern Munich are in a different class from the rest of the Bundesliga, and so are Hamburg and Cologne. (A lower one.)
Matt and Abel are back together this week, taking it all in: The future of Bayern Munich (and whether it might include Thomas Tuchel); whether Europe’s young guns will be enticed by Stöger-ball in Dortmund; just how cooked are HSV and 1.FC Köln’s geese; how high can Tayfun Korkut take VfB Stuttgart? (That last one is given musical life by the spectacular Adam Darowski – we cannot express the extent of our thanks.)
Enjoy the episode! Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
If you like low-scoring knife-edge encounters (and let’s face it, who doesn’t), MD24 in the Bundesliga was your jam. The highest combined goal-scoring tally was three, and just one match had a margin of more than a single goal. Both big bad Bayern and second place Dortmund fell prey to the goal drought – settling for draws.
Abel(picking up a sick Matt’s slack) is in the driver’s seat and brings JT along for the ride on a pod that takes it all in: The sick man of the north (HSV), Stuttgart’s revival under Korkut (just four points from seventh…and Europe?), and the bandwagon at least one of them is keen to fire up: Nils Petersen für Deutschland! Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
What to do with a player you’ve heard has come down with the flu? How do you predict what Europa League teams might do to their starting XI’s in the game after Thursday night action? And how do you bring yourself down from a MD22-prediction high and get buckled in for another week of action?
JT and Flo get stuck in to their line-up planning (and perhaps yours) for Match Day 23 – listen, learn and laugh along with them! Produced by Aidan Rantoul.
