Bundesliga MD 30 – Schalke stomp BVB in Revierderby, Frankfurt fold after Kovac agrees to join Bayern

Dortmund’s dreams of overhauling the Royal Blues with a win in Gelsenkirchen were dashed in style on Match Day 30 – Tedesco’s boys walked off the Veltins Arena pitch with a 2-0 win and a tight grip on second place.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich decided Niko Kovac is the man to lead them come summer when Jupp Heynckes puts himself out to pasture. Matt catches up with Kit Holden in Berlin for an extended chat on these two juicy topics…as well as much more from MD30. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.

Talking Fussball – MD2 Review and Syria’s number one Werder Bremen fan

Talking Fussball is really pretty pleased with the result it got this week while wrapping up Bundesliga match day 2.

Matt Hermann brought podcast all-star Terry Duffelen back into the line-up and handed a debut to New Jersey’s Abel Meszaros. The man known as @BundesPL on Twitter played a blinder, even as he had to come off during the second half water break. Nik Wildhagen then made a huge impact in a cameo appearance interviewing the man behind Werder Bremen’s fan club in war-struck Syria, Akel Alkubeh (@Akel_SVW).

Enjoy, and see you next week!

Part 2: Matt and Nik mull over the upcoming action in the Bundesliga. Like a good oatmeal stout, this match day has a well balanced taste and the boys simply cannot get enough of it. They highlight the matches worth watching and Matt and Nik dig into the most important storylines of the match day.

At the end of the show we announce the winners of our Das Reboot competition.

Talking Fussball Extra – UCL Wrap + 2015/16 MD8 Preview

The Bundesliga snatched defeat from the jaws of victory this week in the UEFA Champions League, with three out of four sides taking 1-0 leads on their big-name opposition before capitulating late to lose 2-1. (The exception was Bayern, but isn’t that always the way in the Bundesliga?)

At any rate, Matt Hermann and Nik Wildhagen fought like mad to keep that drop-off in quality from happening late in the pod, knowing they had an ace up their sleeve: the pod ends with our first submission in the #TFEBundesligaAnthem appeal! It’s written by Tony Williams, submitted by his dad David, and called “Ode to Fabi J: Goals for Foals.” I think you’ll agree it’s a pretty sick slow burner. Keep ’em coming!

Talking Fussball Extra – Matchday 5 & Interview with Simon Rolfes

Not only has it been the ‘English Week’ in the Bundesliga, with rare midweek action taking place, but TFE has a special guest on the pod – Bayer Leverkusen captain Simon Rolfes. The task of wading through the results of Matchday 5 falls to host Matt Hermann with the help of panellists, Nik Wildhagen (Senior Editor – Bundesliga Fanatic) and Archie Rhind-Tutt (Bundesliga Reporter – BT Sport). It was quite some set of games, with FC Bayern taking top spot in the league and elsewhere there were last minute equalisers for the likes of Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund.

Team Pod also takes on Team Listeners in predicting the scores of Matchday 6 in the Bundesliga. This week, panellist Nik faces off against listener, Alex Chaffer.
