Bundesliga MD28 – BVB the victim in Klassiker massacre at Bayern, Hoffenheim still climbing

If Peter Stöger was looking to dispel the myth that his Dortmund team was defensively sound, a six-nil stomping in Munich was an emphatic way to do it. The result propels Bayern into their Champions League date with Sevilla with wind in their sails, and leaves BVB vulnerable to being overtaken as they enter a tricky set of fixtures.

Matt and Abel get a jump on match day 28 analysis, chewing over all the Klassiker fallout, the steady rise of Hoffenheim and much much more. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.

TF Fantasy MD27 tips – Striking advice for the run-in

Ever think “WWSHDIHPOFB?” (What would Steven Hawking do if he played Official Fantasy Bundesliga?) Maybe not, but JT has – he and Flo chew it over on an episode that zooms in on the Bundesliga’s top goal-getters.

Yes it’s striker week on #TFFantasy, where you’ll get the boys’ thoughts on who’ll serve your team best up front in the run-in, along with the accustomed range of bankers, watchlist wonders, and fantasy facepalms. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.

Bundesliga MD 26 – Titz the cure for what ails Hamburg after Bayern battering, Michy saves BVB’s bacon again

It’s basically a done deal – Hamburg are going down. This week’s two-part reset-button smash on either side of a 6-0 hiding at the hands of Bayern proves the club knows it too. Listen in as Matt and Abel go deep on the team the elegantly named Christian Titz is taking over as interim coach. (The two could just as easily have talked about Cologne’s sense of impending doom – unfortunately, they hadn’t yet lost to Bremen when the pod recorded.)

Also plenty of talk on Dortmund’s Dusel in winning against Eintracht, the doldrums of the foals, Franck Ribery’s renaissance weekend, and much much more. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.

Bundesliga MD25 – Bayern open 20-point gap at the top, Leipzig and BVB prep for Europa League test with stalemate

This past weekend was like a point of emphasis, driving home what we probably already knew: Bayern Munich are in a different class from the rest of the Bundesliga, and so are Hamburg and Cologne. (A lower one.)

Matt and Abel are back together this week, taking it all in: The future of Bayern Munich (and whether it might include Thomas Tuchel); whether Europe’s young guns will be enticed by Stöger-ball in Dortmund; just how cooked are HSV and 1.FC Köln’s geese; how high can Tayfun Korkut take VfB Stuttgart? (That last one is given musical life by the spectacular Adam Darowski – we cannot express the extent of our thanks.)

Enjoy the episode! Produced by Aidan Rantoul.

Bundesliga MD19 – Bayern breakaway continues as rivals falter

It’s that time of year again. The one where Bundesliga watchers go into idle lamentation mode, worried about FC Bayern München running away with the league again.

Listen in as Matt sits down with Kit Holden in his Berlin study for a highbrow discussion of Bayern’s ultra-dominance, Dortmund’s search for a new point to their spear now that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to leave, and much much more. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.

The Talking Fussball Winterpause Spectacular!

Bundesliga MD14 – Stöger waves goodbye at Cologne; Bosz on borrowed time after draw in Leverkusen

Another eventful match day in the Bundesliga: The billygoats parted ways with their coach after their best performance of the season, BVB found a new way to disappoint their fans by playing on the back foot for 54 minutes against 10 men; Serge Gnabry and Hoffenheim slapped RB Leipzig silly, vaulting themselves into fifth.

Lots to talk about, and a cracking duo to take it all in – James Thorogood and Alex Chaffer. Join the Anglo-Kölners for your full wrap, which was produced by Aidan Rantoul.

MD13 – Schalke fightback stuns BVB in Revierderby for the ages, Foals deal Bayern first loss under Heynckes

It’s the Bundesliga’s big one. Dortmund v. Schalke, the Revierderby – a fixture meant to settle bragging rights in the Ruhr Valley and beyond. It always has plenty of fizz. On MD13, it was Diet Coke and Mentos.

Matt and Abel give the 4-4 thriller a thorough going over before moving on to Bayern’s surprising 2-1 loss in Mönchengladbach and the rest of the action from the weekend. Enjoy it!

UCL/UEL MD4 & Bundesliga MD11 Preview – Klassiker weekend finds Bayern ready to bully Dortmund

It’s happened. FC Bayern München have wrested top spot in the Bundesliga away from Borussia Dortmund, and the Schwarzgelben need to snap out of their funk fast on Saturday to keep from falling further behind.

Matt and Abel run through the big stories coming out of European competition this week, talk over what Werder Bremen’s next move might be in finding a new coach, and find time to give their quick-takes on each of the games coming up on MD11. We’ll be back with our regularly scheduled programming early next week to talk about the Klasskier fallout and much more. Produced by Aidan Rantoul.

Bundesliga MD8 – RB Leipzig win instant classic in Dortmund, Hertha #takeaknee

Who can forget where they were when Leipzig went to the Westfalenstadion and knocked off BVB? It’s only been a few days, but it already feels like this attacking display will live on for some time yet in the discerning Bundesliga fan’s memory.

Matt and Abel do their best to do the game justice on this week’s podcast, as well as dig deeper into the justice theme with Hertha BSC. The capital club positioned themselves as the Bundesliga’s leading proponents of tolerance, solidarity, equality, respect, and several other weighty adjectives by kneeling before their game on Saturday.

The boys also dig into Jupp Heynckes’ return to Bayern, and speak with Paul Dykes of the Celtic State of Mind podcast about the Rekordmeister’s opponents in the Champions League this week, Celtic FC. (An extended version of this chat is available to subscribers on Patreon.) Produced by Aidan Rantoul. Enjoy!
